Ketlon has a large number of Multi Axis CNC, Multi Spindle and chucking Lathes. With over 60 CNC machines, our manufacturing engineers can ensure that complex turned parts are produced in a high productivity and flexible production environment.

Many of our 2 axis machines feature automatic updating of programmes for tool offset and a check facility to identify if this is outside acceptable tolerances, preventing further manufacture from taking place until the fault is corrected. Some of our machines incorporate laser measuring systems which compensate automatically for tool wear. |

A number of our machines also have driven tooling and indexing chucks, allowing for the completion of secondary operations such as milling and drilling without having to transfer to another process.
Our 4 axis machines encompass two chucks and two turrets, providing even greater capability to produce complex components.
Our 5 axis machine also includes the transverse movement of one chuck, allowing the transfer of components for different machining operations. |
Ketlon's Multi Spindle Lathes have a capacity to produce over 1.5 million components, up to 170 mm in diameter, per year. 8 chucking auto's are available, some enabling the automatic loading of gear blanks. The use of block tooling that is pre-set off the machine, considerably reduces set up times and improves quality through consistent dimensional accuracy. |

We also have 3 bar auto's which are also used for components such as sun and planet gears in epicyclic gearboxes. Final machining operations can be completed prior to gear grinding, hobbing, shaping or shaving, negating the need for further machining processes. |

Ketlon has 20 state of the art CNC grinding machines capable of producing components to dimensional tolerances better than 9 microns and World Class surface finishes.
Both hardened and non-hardened materials can be processed to a variety of specifications.
Our facilities, which include internal, external and universal grinding, are capable of producing in excess of 2 million components per year up to 500mm in length and 350mm in diameter. |
Complex internal and external grinding is accommodated using our range of plunge and angle approach machines. These can use a variety of wheel forms specially manufactured in both standard and advanced grades. |

Many of our machines utilise automatic grinding and wheel dressing cycles with in-process gauging to automatically adjust for wheel wear. This ensures consistency of manufacturing processes and components to the highest quality standards. |

Ketlon has made significant investments in high technology CNC Gear Grinding machinery capable of producing in excess of 100,000 components a year.
With 25 years experience in manufacturing gears for the automotive sector, our engineers are able to advise on the grinding of a wide range of components in a variety of materials.
This expertise enables the manufacturing implementation of high precision gears to specifications and tolerance bands consistently held to a Class 4 DIN standard.
Our manufacturing facility is supplemented by a CNC gear checking machine to measure and record tooth profiles. This equipment is located on line in a controlled environment to ensure production consistency. |
